Well, we’ve been very busy bees for this whole wintertime…
After having just moved in, trying to get settled in, life just keeps sending us new adventures to keep up with – good thing we both love challenges!
We are finally at the point where we just about finished the bathroom, other than a mirror, caulking and some trim there’s really nothing much else to it other than a little decor and some little finishings, phew! That was certainly a very complicated drawn-out adventure of a renovation!! One thing after another, decisions to be made, things needed to be repaired unexpectedly, etc. it was certainly a huge project but I’m so happy we’ve just about got it done!
Between us both working full-time, midst construction, trying to unpack and keep things reasonably sane we also discovered the exciting news of our pregnancy!
The world works in mysterious ways, and funny enough likes to tell you that it knows timing much better than you ever would…and I have to agree.
We have this thing about both of us where we like to be prepared, like really prepared, for absolutely any next step in life we take together. This is a great thing except that sometimes it can backfire and you end up just waiting and dreaming vs. actually living it a lot sooner when it is possible but perhaps not entirely “ideal”.
Regardless we are so excited to be able to welcome a new addition to our family. During this time of me writing I am currently 35weeks 3days, and we are in the middle of a new renovation – the nursery! Don’t worry, we are both completely sane despite how crazy this sounds! Thinking about it, we decided now would be the best time to do it to avoid dust, moving our settled child, etc. to be able to do it later on. We’ve decided to gut the entire room to re-insulate, re-drywall and re-finish the beautiful hardwood flooring that is in there (desperately needed). It’s going to look so good when were done!
Funny thing though is that we get so excited to be doing it, we forget to take before photos! The bathroom is one that we definitely missed on, though I did manage to capture the nursery fully broken to it’s bones. I’ll be sure to post finished photos too and share the nursery when we’ve got it all decorated and put together, Yay!
I’m so lucky to be with a man who is so capable of absolutely anything…he really is a most wonderful person and on top of it all an amazing tradesman. Due to funds being of a specific amount, we would really be unable to have done any renovations if it wasn’t for him doing all the labour, including help from our most wonderful family members.
Now I’ll just have to figure out the most perfect gift to give them all as a huge thank you.
